Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, in New York City New York. She is an American singer/actress whose range has gained her recognition across a range of types of films ranging from thrillers and adventures to period films. Johansson, the daughter of a renowned architect, as well as producer, was brought up as a child in New York City. The twin brothers Hunter as well as her mother were the youngest siblings. She developed an interest in acting at an early age and was auditioning for commercials before the age of seven. She enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly following and then attended the Professional Children's School, Manhattan to continue her training. At age eight she appeared with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry, and at nine she made her film debut with Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson was next seen on screen in Just Cause (1995), prior to her breakthrough with Manny & Lo - a tale about two sisters who are orphans who are able to escape. The film received the attention of critics for her character in the film as a teen who had a life-threatening accident The Horse Whisperer (1998) and she gained further attention as cynical teen who is a solitary Rebecca in Ghost World (2001). Renee Felice Smith started her professional career in entertainment from a very young age. As a child she was captivated by acting. With the support from her parents, Smith got her first acting job in the age of 6. The role was in an Dannon yogurt commercial. Like numerous young actresses, she began her stage career. In addition to other productions in the USA she also made her theatrical debut in Wildflower.
