The band was never able to the group to be an overnight success in the United States, but they gained much popularity in other countries, particularly Japan. Ford started a heavy metal solo career after the group broke up in 1979. Ford began to take voice classes shortly after releasing her debut album 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford did not achieve much with either album, and then she decided to leave the music scene for 10 years. Ford returned to the scene with her smashing success album, 'Lita' that was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was her greatest hit, as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. She disappeared from the industry for a couple of years following her brief popularity. The release of "Black" in 1995 was followed by 'Wicked Wonderland', a little over 15 years later. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
